6 NEW 2012 day trips

Grandparent trip, Lincoln Museum/Scheels, Springfield, Sat. Mar.31, $74. Includes transportation, admission, & driver’s tip. We’ll depart from Lawrenceville kind of early, pick up in Olney & Flora, stop for short break in Effingham, arrive at Lincoln Museum, enjoy it, have lunch, depart at set time, travel about 15 minutes to Scheels, a "something for everyone" place, enjoy an aquarium, wildlife displays, ferris wheel, entertainment, sports, shopping, fish festival weekend, simulated sports, fashion, etc. while we are there. Also, have supper then depart for home.

Lion King”, Fox Theatre, St. Louis, Fri. Aug. 31, 1:00 PM, $117. Reservations by June 10, please. Includes transportation, show, & driver’s tip. Let your imagination run wild at the Broadway sensation “a landmark event“, marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life.

Footloose“, Myers Theatre, Hillsboro, IN, Wed. June 20, $104. Doors open at 10:30, meal 11:00, show 12:30 (IL time). Includes transportation, lunch & gratuity, show, & driver’s tip. When Ren & his mother move from Chicago to a small town where the local government has banned dancing and rock music, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. However, Reverend Shaw Moore’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend, he tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. However, Ren leads his classmates around the law and the Reverend Moore into having a real senior prom. This is a heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. FOOTLOOSE is packed full of electrifying dance routines & lots of super music.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers“, Myers Theatre, Hillsboro, IN, Wed. Aug. 8, 20, $104. Doors open at 10:30, meal 11:00, show 12:30 (IL time). Includes transportation, lunch & gratuity, show, & driver’s tip. Adam, the eldest of seven brothers, goes to town to get a wife. He convinces Milly to marry him that same day. When Adam brings her home, she is appalled at the brothers' untidy/careless living and sets about turning these unwashed louts into immaculate gentlemen. During the boisterous barn-raising scene, the brothers get into a scuffle with a group of townsmen over the affection of six pretty lasses. Yearning to become husbands like their big brother, they ask Adam for advice. He explains, in order to claim their gals, the boys must kidnap them--which they do. Vowing to remain on their best behavior, the boys make no annoying advances towards their reluctant female guests--not even during one of the coldest winters on record. Comes the spring thaw, the angry townsfolk come charging up the mountain, demanding the return of the stolen girls (who, by this time, have "tamed" their men). A happy ending is ultimately had by all in this delightful if politically incorrect concoction.

Wicked”, Kentucky Center, Louisville, KY, Thurs. Sept. 13, $121. Reservations by April 1 or as soon as possible, please. Includes lunch, supper, transportation, show, & driver’s tip. Doors open at 11:00, show 12:00 (IL time). The untold story of the Witches of Oz, the Wicked Witch of the West & Glinda, the Good Witch.
